• What is Big Realm e-commerce?
Big Realm e-commerce is a comprehensive shopping cart package allowing you to sell both merchandise and digital product on-line. You can build an on-line shop with a minimum of 4 steps.
• How much does Big Realm e-commerce cost?
The Big Realm e-commerce software costs a once only license fee of $295, with $29.90 per month order processing. This pricing includes software updates and personal support.
• What are the computer system requirements?
Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7
Macintosh OSX 10.3 or later Internet connection Web site • Can I have more than one on-line shop operating at the same time?
No. You will need to purchase a license for each shop. This would only be the case if you have two completely different businesses that require dedicated shops.
• Can I try Big Realm e-commerce for free to see if it will be appropriate for me?
Yes. Download Big Realm e-commerce, register with us as 'Trial Only' and you can try it for free for a limited time period. The software is fully operational except the Big Realm server will not take orders from your on-line shop. You can build and upload a complete shop to your web site.
• If I choose to purchase a license after my trial period, do I have to download the software again?
No. It is just a matter of selecting a payment method from within the software.
• If I choose to purchase a license after my trial period, will I lose the shop that I built?
No.
• If I purchase a license, what kind of support will I receive?
General questions regarding shop building can be answered with the on-line tutorials, but if you are having problems and our web site support page does not have a solution, you can contact us by email or phone.
• Why do I have to register with you to try out the software?
You will need to register with the Big Realm server so that you can eventually receive orders from your customers. The Big Realm server also processes confirmation emails, payment gateways, PayPal, etc.
• Will my customer's credit card details be secure?
Yes. All shop transactions use 256-bit encryption. Credit card details are not stored on the Big Realm server.
• I want to let customers pay for my products with PayPal - is this included?
Yes. Your PayPal customers can pay using PayPal direct from your cart, or from your checkout page. PayPal's Express Checkout will be integrated into your shop, so your customers will feel comfortable with the checkout process. You will need to have a PayPal business account (check out the easy to follow tutorial: PayPal integration instructions)
• Can I use a payment gateway with my shop so that credit card orders are processed automatically?
Yes. We recommend Australia's most popular payment gateway service Camtech, but we can also incorporate your choice.
• Will my shopping cart calculate tax and freight so that my customers will know exactly what they will be charged before checkout?
Yes.
• I already have a web site with my own design. Can I customize my shop so that it continues the appearance of my web site?
Yes. You can include your own header, logo, colours, background images etc.
• I don't have a web site. Can I use Big Realm to build my web site AND shop as well?
Yes. You can add non-shop content web pages to your shop. Added web pages are easily customized with your own text and images.
• Can I choose my shop style from pre-designed shop templates?
Yes. You can start with a template and modify it as desired.
• How many categories and products are allowed in my shop?
Unlimited.
• How many sub-categories are allowed in my shop?
You can have five levels of categories.
• Can I import products from another application?
Not at present.
• Will my shop keep track of stock quantities?
No.
• Can I include my own content in product pages?
Yes. You can create your own content (with the easy to use content editor) for product pages, as well as the home page, cart page, order confirmation page.
• If I import an image, will it automatically be scaled?
Yes. Aspect ratios are maintained. Also, Big Realm e-commerce has an in-built Image Transformer that processes single images or batches of images, with adjustments in image size, image colour, border size, border colour, etc.
• What currencies are available?
At present, shops are either AUD (Australian Dollar) or USD (United States Dollar).
• Will I be notified when my shop receives orders?
Yes. You will be sent an email automatically when an order is placed with your on-line shop.
• How do I get my orders?
You can easily download all your orders with the Big Realm e-commerce software.
• Will the customer receive a confirmation email after order completion?
Yes. A confirmation email is automatically sent to the customer with all details of the order. You can even include your own content in the confirmation email.
• At times I may want to hide certain products in my on-line shop. Is this possible without deleting them?
Yes. You can hide any categories and products with the Active/Inactive feature.
• Can I replace the price on particular products with 'Coming Soon' or 'Out of Stock'?
Yes. You can replace the price with any brief text.
• I want to run a promotion for a particular month and completely change my shop's appearance. I don't want to lose the original shop design as I want to revert back after the promotion. Is this possible?
Yes. You can save a duplicate of your current shop, modify it, and upload it for your promotion. When your promotion is over, simply upload the original shop. You can save as many versions of a shop as desired.
• Can I send customized promotional emails to my customers?
Yes. Every time you download an order, the customer is added to your customer database. You can create customized email templates, and they can be automatically processed and delivered to your choice of grouped customers.
• Can I import customers from another application?
Yes. You can import customers from text, MYOB and CSV files.
• I want to sell my music as MP3 music files. Is this possible?
Yes. You can also provide on-line audio previews of MP3 digital files so your customers can listen before purchase.
• Can I set up discounts?
Yes. You can set up discounts in various ways depending on the subtotal or quantity of the customer order.
• Can I set up tax and freight for various regions?
Yes. Regions allow you to set tax and freight depending where the customer lives.
• If I need to make a minor change to my shop, do I have to upload the complete shop again?
No. Big Realm e-commerce will allow you upload only the files that have been modified since the last upload.
• Will my web site server need any special requirements?
If you plan on selling digital product in your shop, your server must support PHP scripts.
• Will you provide updates to the Big Realm e-commerce software?
Yes, updates will be available free. This is easily done from the main menu.
